Lewmar anchor rodes are a great economical choice for boaters looking for a windlass rode. These rodes are designed to work with the rope-chain gypsies fitted to all Lewmar Windlasses and help it operate smoothly. Keep in mind the size of the rode you have chosen and if your anchor locker has enough depth to store the Lewmar Anchor Rodes.

The Lewmar Premium 3-Strand Anchor Rode is made of 3-Strand nylon rope. There are several grades of this rope available. Make sure you are always using a premium windlass grade rope and ensure that the diameter is ½” (.500) or slightly larger, smaller sizes work poorly in ½ gypsies. Lower quality 3-strand rope tends to not lay properly.

Lewmer Anchor Rodes are manufactured with ¼” -5/16” shackles and are calibrated for even pitch. The smooth rope-to-chain transition is welded for greater strength. The whipping of the rope is hand sewn to help prevent unraveling.

These rodes can take on wear and tear and especially in salt-water conditions. If your lines begin to stiffen, soak in a bucket of fresh water and fabric softener. (the longer the better). This should repair some of the flexibility. However, if this doesn’t work your Lewmar anchor rodes should be replaced.
