Instead of a mechanical bar linking the engines, each engine gets its own cylinder and the cylinders are connected by hydraulic hoses. It's common on catamarans, where the engines are far apart.
Why use the catamaran cylinder instead of a standard one?
Its internal O-ring limits fluid bypass, so the engines hold their alignment better and need less realignment.
Can I use it on a single-engine boat?
It's not recommended. For a single outboard, look at the HC5345-3.
